Grief of the Heart

Let not the grief of your heart be the cause of your destruction. Let it be the bridge which brings you closer to Allah. All forms of pain are temporary. Because pain is only for the dunya, which is temporary unlike Jannah which is eternal and no such pain exists within it. –

You must endure pain, in order for a life of bliss in the hereafter. The pain you experience when exerting yourself in patience during any calamity, will be worthwhile when you see the fruits of your efforts in the hereafter. Happiness comes with a price. Jannah comes with a price. –

In this world your heart will always feel unrest, there’s always one concern or another which dwells within your mind, but if you fully entrust your matters to Allah, you will find a sense of peace and relief in doing so. –

Allah knows the wisdom behind the pain of today. Allah knows whether He wishes to elevate your rank through it or expiate your sins through it. So do not be disheartened,  rather consider it a blessing as it pushes you to remember Allah. –

Whilst people are engaged by the amusement of this world, your heart is preoccupied with Allah as a result of this pain. Is it then not a blessing that Allah wants to save your akhirah because you are unable to do it single handedly? –

The people who were once a cause of your happiness, may have become a cause of your grief. But know that just as they disappeared from your life, the pain they left behind will also follow their footsteps. – “Trials and tribulation are like feeling the heat and cold, when one knows that they cannot be avoided, he will not feel anger at their onset, nor will he be distressed or disheartened.”
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله.

A Prescribed Injection

Each difficulty in life, each pain and each tear we shed is a form of MERCY. I like to look at it as an injection prescribed by our creator to be cured of the diseases of our hearts. It is through the hardships that we gain strength, patience and new insights. The trials and tribulations chip away at our flaws and shortcomings leaving us purified and ever more aware. This awareness leads us to be more grateful, more cautious and more wise. Embrace the difficulties with the anticipation of becoming a better person! -Haleh Banani
