Surah Al-Ankaboot, Verse 45:
Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer; surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the GREATEST, and Allah knows what you do.
The prophet (saw) said: ‘shall I not tell you of the best of your actions, the purest in the sight of your Lord, which raises your rank to the highest, which is better for you than spending gold &
Silver, better than meeting your enemy so that you strike at their necks & they strike at yours? And he said: it is the remembrance of Allah. (Tirmidhi)
Pondering over His creation, remembering His names & attributes in our hearts & on our tongues, thinking deeply over His signs in ourselves & in the Qur’an,….all these are forms of remembrance of Allah…which is the best of righteous acts.
And it is in such remembrance that the light of eeman (faith) enters our heart & we grow in faith more than ever, because we will then understand who our Lord really is, subhanahu wata aala.
O you who believe! Remember Allah often with much remembrance. [33:35]
So, O you slave of Allah, who wakes up on these nights so blessed, assign a portion of the night to remembering your Lord, The Most High, & then you would have performed the best of deeds.
