Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 183:
O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa (God-consciousness)
We are indeed grateful to Our Lord, Allah for allowing us to reach the the middle half of ramadan, alhamdulillah. & As today marks the 15th day of ramadan, this is the ideal time to review the purpose & goal of this blessed month.
We increase in all kinds of ibaadah; salah, charity, qur’an, kindness in this blessed month…so that we may reap the price of eeman at the end of our fasting (2:183). By increasing our eeman, we become more conscious of Allah, and following His command becomes easier: & that is the ultimate goal of ramadan.
How far have we gone in achieving our goal? We only have the second half of ramadhan to go. Think, reflect & ensure that you do whatever it takes to make you increase in eeman in this ramadhan.
“It is He that sent down tranquility upon the hearts of the believers that they may increase in faith along with their (present) faith” (48:4)
May He (swt) grant us that which we seek in this holy month, ameen
