Surah Ar-Rad, Verse 11
Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah). But when Allah wills a people’s punishment, there can be no turning back of it, and they will find besides Him no protector.
Indeed, It wasn’t too long that we spoke of our land, Nigeria, as been immensely blessed.
-A lot of learned aalims (learned men) of the right aqeedah across the country
-an attraction site for foreign aalims
-Islamic schools every here & there
-free week-long islamic programs organised at a camp for muslim students from all over the country,
-& most of all, we lived in harmony, even with persons of different sects .
“What went wrong? What changed?” We tend to ask ourselves all the time. Why the senseless bloodshed, the conflict between aalims, the killing of learned people, the poverty, the heedless youths? & what is the solution to all of these?!
We mostly put the blame on our leaders, but our prophet said Our Lord will give a people a leader of their kind. So it all comes back to us. It requires a personal effort, personal contribution from each one of us, to seek the pleasure of Allah so as to regain our good condition.
Sheikh al-bani (one of those who were killed, may Allah have mercy on his soul) mentioned once that in order for us to see the end of all these, we should allocate some of our good deed and dedicate only for asking Allah for peace & security I.e do tawassul with such deeds seeking good condition for the ummah.
O Allah accept our hearts dua this ramadhan, & bring peace to muslims all over the world, ameen.
