Surah Yunus, Verse 55:
No doubt, surely, all that is in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. No doubt, surely, Allah’s Promise is true. But most of them know not.
This is a reminder to us all, a wake up call, that surely whatever Allah (swt) promised, in His book or through His messenger (saw) is true & must happen. Indeed, the death, the resurrection, the reward & the punishment are all genuine. So why are we still distracted & heedless of Allah’s commands?
“O mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is true. So let not this present life deceive you,& let not the chief deceiver (Satan)deceive you about Allah.”(35:5)
The sister goes out hijabless, another persists in dealing in interest, another wears a tush (big ribbon) while the other engage in an intimate relationship with the opposite sex, to mention but a few. All these are actions that Allah & His messenger promised will lead to hell fire, subhanallah, but we are we still heedless? Don’t we belief in the promise of Hell & paradise anymore?
The deception of this life is such that it seems as if it will last forever while the akhirah is so far fetched. Subhanallah, when asked about this life when resurrected, the sinners will think they only spent a day or part of a day? (23:113-114). Then who is more foolish than the one who worked only for this world? & indeed satans comes in the forms of deceptive thoughts about Allah as we have seen from “Qur’anic Gems 2”.
Then verily, the wisest of us all is he who is not deceived by this life or satan, but rather heeds Allah warning (35:5). Let’s make this ramadan count by seeking protection from the deception of those two, thereby turning our lives around.
We implore Allah to gift us with more from His ‘Gems’ & make us of those who live with the whole Qur’an, in heart & mind, ameen.
