The sight of rain drops sliding down the glass window pane, every single little drop each with its own pace and it’s own course. Each and every one having a purpose. This reminds one of the greatness if Allah. For He is aware of every single little drop, right before it even forms on the clouds, up until the time the heavily pregnant clouds let them down (by His command), and it continues it’s journey down the window pane, it’s purpose known by Allah alone. All this is possible only by His infinite mercy. For once, the land was so dry and crying out for the moist of the rain. Allah mentions:
And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed. (Q7:57)
“Behold in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the Night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah sends down from the skies; and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; In the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; In the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth- (Here) indeed are signs for a people that are wise. (Q2:164)
Certainly even in the smallest and slightest of things does Allah set out His signs, perchance we might reflect upon them. The diversity and the beauty of nature, the unique shape of every single snowflake, the unique shape of every drop of water, even in ourselves, the air we breathe in and how we can’t live without it. In all these are signs for those who reflect.
May Allah make us amongst His humble servants who reflect upon His beautiful signs and take lessons out of them, ameen!
